This policy explains what information Sikhtogather.com ("Sikhtogather", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Sikhtogather is currently in early access, so some features described on our site are still being built.

Sikhtogather is a location-based community platform for the Sikh Sangat — helping you find your local Gurdwara Sahib, discover events, support Sikh-owned businesses and find jobs near you. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to provide the service:
- Early-access email: if you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you give us.
- Messages you send us: if you email or contact us, we keep your message and contact details to reply.
- When accounts launch: once the full platform is live, an account will involve details such as your name, your general location or area, and any listings you choose to create (for example a Gurdwara, business, event or job). We'll update this policy before those features go live.
- Basic technical data: like most websites, our server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
3. How we use your information
- To tell you when Sikhtogather launches in your area.
- To respond to your messages and provide support.
- To operate, secure and improve the platform.
- To show you relevant local community content once accounts and listings are live.
We will never sell your personal information, and we won't use your email for anything you didn't sign up for.
4. Legal basis
Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we rely on your consent (which you give by joining the waitlist and can withdraw at any time), and on our legitimate interests in running and securing the service.
5. Sharing your information
We don't sell your data. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run Sikhtogather (for example email delivery and hosting), and only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose information if required by law. Any listing details you choose to publish (such as a public Gurdwara or business listing) will, of course, be visible to the community.
6. Cookies & local storage
Sikhtogather does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our site uses your browser's local storage only to remember that you joined the waitlist on this device — this stays on your device and is never sent to third parties.
7. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until we launch in your area and you've had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- See what information we hold about you.
- Correct or delete your information.
- Unsubscribe or withdraw consent at any time.

9. Children
Sikhtogather is intended for adults and families in the community. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
As we build out the platform, we may update this policy. When we make meaningful changes, we'll revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
